Digital Fundraising & Communications Lead

*Role Closed*

WaveLength

Salary: Up to £40,000

Location: Hornchurch, East London with hybrid working

Hours: Full Time

Closing Date: 12 November 2021

WaveLength is proud to be the UK’s leading charity focusing on loneliness and social isolation, working across the UK in local communities to reduce loneliness for people living in poverty by providing technology such as radios, televisions and tablets.

Research estimates that over 9 million in the UK are lonely at any given time. We help reduce the experience of loneliness by connecting people via technology to their families, support networks and communities. We calculate we work with over 25,000 beneficiaries a year.

The Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted the desperate issue of loneliness for millions
of people and raised awareness of the need for support across a wide range of donors. We want to capture the momentum of this increased awareness to build on our fundraising capability.

With strong fundraising foundations in place, we recently completed a review of our opportunities and resources and have a new focus on refreshing our existing donor base whilst diversifying our income streams. As part of this diversification, we are ambitious to recruit an experienced Digital Lead to develop our digital fundraising and communications activity.

We have a good understanding of our impact and have research that proves what we do works to alleviate loneliness, however we want to be better at weaving this knowledge, insight and personal evidence from the individuals we help into our storytelling, to build stronger and far-reaching supporter engagement through digital and traditional channels.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven, ambitious and experienced fundraiser to help us further build and drive our fundraising function forward. Working closely with the CEO, you will help set the digital fundraising and communications strategy, being directly responsible for raising related income and, as we grow and develop, you will also have the opportunity to build, support and lead a dedicated team alongside you. There is excellent scope for professional development within the role; to work autonomously and really own the outcome of your efforts whilst also being part of a supportive, collaborative and dedicated organisation.
