Engagement & Marketing Director
Trees for Cities
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000
Location: Hybrid, 2 days in London office
Hours: Full Time
Closing Date: 29 May 2023 *Role Closed*
Trees for Cities is the only national charity dedicated to improve lives by planting, protecting and promoting urban trees. We do this by working closely with communities, landowners, partners and funders to deliver transformational change in towns and cities across the UK and overseas. We plant trees in schools, streets, estates, parks and open spaces to create nature-rich urban woodland, hedgerows, orchards, avenues and playgrounds.
The Engagement & Marketing Director will be responsible for inspiring, engaging and involving people and communities to plant and protect urban trees, and for leading the Engagement & Marketing team to drive awareness and understanding of the importance of urban trees.
Our 2022-2025 strategy – The Turn of Trees – sets out plans to create a national community engagement sub-strategy to promote local involvement and collaborative design, upskill local authorities, and provide access to best practices across the wider community engagement sphere.
Traditionally, our community engagement has been largely site-based linked to tree planting. Since Covid, however, the extent to which people and communities have engaged online has seen a massive upsurge. Therefore, this new role has been created to lead the development of this sub-strategy, bringing together the community Engagement & Marketing teams to creatively reach people and communities through both site-based and digital platforms.
