Milton Keynes Community Foundation (MK Community Foundation) is a leading grant-making charity distributing funding where it's needed most in Milton Keynes.  We play a key role as an enabler for the exciting and developing voluntary, community and cultural sector, providing millions of pounds annually in vital grants and property solutions to support healthy and inclusive communities across the city.

Milton Keynes is a growing city and by 2050 the population will grow from 270,000 to 500,000. We are proud to be part of this vibrant, progressive, and entrepreneurial city with its richly diverse community. Like most cities however, it also has areas of deprivation and social challenge. By guiding businesses, philanthropists, and charities to the right giving and grantmaking, we’re on a mission for a fairer community.

MK Community Foundation are part of a global philanthropic movement of independent community foundations operating globally, of which there are 47 in the UK. Per capita, MK Community Foundation is one of the largest community foundations in the country, with endowed funds of £20m and a property portfolio worth £40m. Collectively, community foundations are the 4th largest funder in the UK and distribute over £100m annually to their local communities.

As a Philanthropy Officer you will play a key role in our success. You will work within the Philanthropy Team to support community philanthropy, administer grant making programmes and in time, directly help promote philanthropy. This is an exciting role where, with support from Philanthropy Managers and the wider team, you will experience the full cycle of philanthropy; supporting donors to achieve their charitable aims and helping the community to meet the needs of a growing population.

We are looking for a self-motivated administrator with strong analytical skills, able to produce reports and assessments to present to panels for discussion.  This role needs a clear communicator, someone able to deal with a wide variety of people including community representatives, donors, and other stakeholders. With a strong team culture and clear understanding of collaborative working to drive our values of Funding Fairness.

You’ll be joining a team where purpose and culture is at the heart of what we do. Our mission of ‘Funding Fairness’ is the focus of who we are and how we work with our stakeholders be they donors, community groups or our property customers. This is an exciting role where you will utilise your administrative and relationship building skills, demonstrate your compassion and drive to make a difference to the lives of the people of Milton Keynes.
