David Austin Roses Limited is a world-leading breeder of fine English Roses. A family owned and operated business based in the Shropshire countryside, we breed, grow and supply over 200 varieties of roses wholesale to the horticultural industry and direct to customers across the UK, Europe, Japan and the USA. We also have an award winning rose garden, plant centre, restaurant and garden tea rooms open to visitors at our Shropshire head office.
Our organisation is entering an exciting period of change and transformation. The business has grown quickly in recent years, with corporate service functions that have evolved organically in response. We now need to take a more strategic approach to our corporate services, to ensure each function has the resource required to guarantee success in supporting business optimisation, growth and purpose.
We have also committed to become a purpose-led business, embedding positive purpose in everything we do - from how we engage with our suppliers, customers and staff, through to how reduce our impact on the environment. In the coming months, will be exploring how becoming purpose-led will shape the business moving forward, including investigating the value of becoming a BCorp, joining the growing global movement of businesses ambitious to be a force for good. Our new Corporate Services Director will play a key part in supporting us on this journey.
This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious, entrepreneurial and strategic leader with experience of leading multiple services within a B2C environment to join us. Although you will lead skilled teams within finance, procurement, HR, IT, legal and facilities management, you need not necessarily be an expert in all of these areas. Of greater importance is outstanding communication skills, an inspiring and collaborative leadership style and the ability to bring challenge and original thought. A passion for creating and imbedding purpose-led principles within business will be essential.
