Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 pro rata

Location: Flexible, from home or office in London

Hours: Part Time - 22.5hrs a week

Founded by teachers and school leaders in 2012, the Teacher Development Trust (TDT) is the national charity for effective professional development in schools and colleges. We are dedicated to improving the educational outcomes of children by ensuring they experience the most effective learning.         

Alongside the leadership development services we offer schools and school leaders across England, we also act as champions for Continuing Professional Development, advocating its importance, working closely with policy makers, politicians, think tanks and educational organisations across the spectrum, in order to emphasise the lessons from research as well as build on the great practice that already exists.

TDT has been going through a period of rapid growth and expansion, fuelled by recently securing major new programmes and contracts alongside the continued growth of our national community of members. We are ambitious to harness this momentum to further extend our reach and impact. This recent growth has allowed us to expand our Senior Leadership Team with the addition of this new Head of Finance position.

Working alongside the Chief Executive, Head of Operations and other SLT colleagues, the Head of Finance will support strategic planning, to ensure the charity remains financially strong with the capability to deliver our strategic goals and mission. The role will support our ongoing growth through building our internal capacity and resource alongside the development and delivery of robust and effective finance operations.

We are looking for an experienced finance professional who has proven experience of successfully managing a finance function, including managing budgets with diverse income streams and expenditure. You will have excellent written and interpersonal skills with experience of fostering and maintaining effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Although not essential, a finance qualification alongside experience of charity SORP is desirable. A strong commitment to education, the non-profit sector and improving educational outcomes for children and young people will be essential.

This is a part time opportunity and we are keen to explore with you how the hours can be flexibly structured to meet your needs alongside those of the organisation. TDT’s offices are based in London, however this role lends itself to home-working from elsewhere in the UK with occasional visits to our main office.
