Founded by teachers and school leaders in 2012, the Teacher Development Trust (TDT) is the national charity for effective professional development in schools and colleges. We are dedicated to improving the educational outcomes of children by ensuring they experience the most effective learning.

Alongside the leadership development services we offer schools and school leaders across England, we also act as champions for Continuing Professional Development, advocating its importance, working closely with policy makers, politicians, think tanks and educational organisations across the spectrum, in order to emphasise the lessons from research as well as build on the great practice that already exists.

Teacher Development Trust

Director of Education

Circa £65,000 - £75,000

Location London/Flexible

TDT are going through an exciting period of growth, having recently secured a new Department for Education grant to deliver National Professional Qualifications. We are focussing significant energy on developing and integrating the different strands of our work to deliver our wider mission as we grow and scale the organisation. The Director of Education is responsible for the quality and impact of our services and programmes, importantly weaving the strands of our work together to ensure we continue to provide a sustainable, cohesive and effective offer for schools, partners, funders and policy makers.

We are looking for an inspiring and strategic leader with knowledge and understanding
of schools in England, school leadership and education policy context both locally and nationally. Bringing consolidated senior programme management and an understanding of how to use communication and policy making to shape practice, advocacy and campaigning work, you will have the ability to forge effective cross-sector relationships with a variety of statutory, voluntary and community organisations. Deeply committed to the TDT values and restless to create change, you need to be someone who leads by example, ensuring that the Trust models the very best culture and teamwork that we want in every school.
