Human Resources Lead

*Role Closed*

The River Cafe

Salary: Circa £75,000 pa, negotiable

Location: London Hammersmith with some hybrid working

Hours: Full Time. Compressed Hours and Part Time will also be considered

In 1987, chefs Ruth Rogers and Rose Gray opened The River Cafe on the banks of the Thames in Hammersmith, London. Initially started as a staff canteen for a nearby architecture practice, it has grown into one of the most iconic and loved restaurants in London, holding a Michelin Star since 1998 and forging the careers of well know chiefs such as Jamie Oliver and Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall.

Following the pandemic and the creation of a successful online shop, the business has experienced significant growth with subsequent expansion of the staff team. With the world of work evolving quickly post pandemic, the business is looking to move away from an externally provided human resource service to develop a comprehensive and cohesive internal human resource capability, supporting our continuous improvement.

As Human Resource Lead, this role will be responsible for developing and implementing a relevant HR service, working with the Senior Management Team to help shape and implement HR strategies whilst ensuring relevant legislative-backed policies and procedures are in place. Building on a friendly, relaxed and highly collaborative team culture, this position will play a pivotal role in shaping and imbedding EDI initiatives, a key priority for the business, whilst also advising and building the scope of the internal HR resources itself.

We are looking for individuals with consolidated experience of shaping, embedding and leading operational and strategic HR services, ideally in a small HR team or standalone HR function. You will bring relevant knowledge of HR legislation and EDI best practice with experience of driving and implementing initiatives, translating this into practical solutions for managers. With the ability and willingness to move between strategic and operational priorities at any given time, you will enjoy working collaboratively and will share a passion for driving excellence and continuous improvement.
