From our locations in Nigeria, Kenya and Rwanda, we have built a vibrant community of over 81,000 people and have supported a portfolio of over 120 early-stage ventures. We have collaborated with some of the leading companies and funders in this space, including Google, Microsoft and Facebook, the Ford Foundation and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
Founded 13 years ago, the organisation has grown quickly and now has just over one hundred staff based across our offices in Africa. The People Unit will play an integral role in shaping our human resources agenda to support our transformation as we continue to grow quickly, develop our business approach, shape our company culture and drive performance.
With the CEO based in the Midlands UK and travelling to Africa on a regular basis, Co-creation Hub is creating an operational support team based in the UK. The People Director will be a key appointment to this UK team and will report directly to the CEO. Some travel to our offices in Africa will be required, likely three to four times a year.
The People Director is responsible for managing the execution of the HR strategy and core areas of the People Unit including Recruitment, Employee Relations, Workforce Administration, Employee Engagement, Payroll, Reward, and Recognition, as well as maintaining and improving HR systems and management of the HR budget. The People Director will lead a team of two HR professionals based in Africa, however you will have the scope to shape resources required for business optimisation moving forward.
We are looking for an experienced and empathetic HR professional who thrives when working in an impact driven, fast-paced, progressive and deadline-oriented environment. You will bring proven HR leadership experience helping to set strategy, design and execute global people programs and building high-performing teams. Experience of delivering HR services to global teams and strong insight and understanding of leading and delivering people services across Africa will be essential. Excellent experience across the whole employee lifecycle, including employee relations, will be required. Experience of working in a fast moving technology-driven or consulting/advisory organisation will be highly desirable, alongside a strong interest in our mission and values.
