Association of British Theatre Technicians

Salary: Circa £60,000 - £70,000, flexible, depending on experience

Location: London or Remote

Hours: Full time (35hrs). Flexible working considered. Co-CEO pairs considered.

In 1961, the Association of British Theatre Technicians (ABTT) was started by a small enthusiastic group, whose main purpose was to raise technical standards in theatre. We are now a world leading independent membership organisation setting and upholding standards in technical excellence, safety and compliance for theatre and live performance across the UK and globally.

The ABTT has become the go-to resource for support. We develop and improve our industry through technical advice, consultations, training, publications and vital resources whilst providing our members with networking and shared learning opportunities through events, seminars, debates and exhibitions.

The ABTT has high ambitions. Following a period of consolidation and growth, we are looking for a CEO who will help set our new strategy and operational plan to deliver our ambitions – to ensure we remain agile and relevant to members; to leverage our respected reputation and partnerships across the sector and to support our growth, reach and impact.

We are looking for an inspiring people leader and engaging ambassador with knowledge of the live entertainment industry, with particular insights of technical skills in production. You will have sound financial management skills alongside a commitment to supporting diversity, equality and inclusion initiatives internally and across the industry. A passion for our mission and alignment with our values will be essential.

To learn more about the role, our work and how we are governed please download the full appointment brief below, where you will also find out how to apply.
